Reviews move-by-move for any recently completed games for any player. Determine what your opponent did to defeat you, what your best moves were, or review an opponent’s game in preparation for a match. 

View Avatar-narrated lesson videos that show you all of the basics, like how pieces move, chess tactics, and strategies. These videos are available on demand.

Use the Real Life series that we are developing. It covers chess pieces, chess terms, and chess tactics, explaining them with real-life examples. They help give students a deeper understanding of chess as it relates to the real world.

Analyze completed games via a link to the Chess Compass. Chess Compass uses the Stockfish chess engine to determine if the move you made was the best move and, if not, Chess Compass will suggest what it thinks are better alternative moves. Chess Compass will also generate interactive puzzles to strengthen your play based on the analysis.

Take quizzes based on video lessons to assess your understanding. If you do not get at least 4 ot the 5 questions correct, you can retake the quiz. Coming soon, you will get participation points for attempting and passing the quizzes.  Merrit badges will be assigned based on points.

Challenge any player at your school or at another school to a chess match. Before you make a challenge or accept a challenge, you can review the opponents  Win/Loss record for the week, the month, or to date.

If no one is available to play, you can play our Computer Assisted Player (CAP). You can choose to play CAP at any of 5 different proficiency levels. This assures that you will get a good game and sharpen your skills.

Although our primary focus is education, not competition, we know that participating in Intermural or Intramural Online Chess Tournaments can be very exciting. Our tournament match software pairs students based on their internal Win/Loss record. These elimination tournaments are not sanctioned but are always fun. Some may have prizes for the winners.
